I must confess that this is the first time I have done any type of print mixing. It's a little more subtle than other print combos, but I really like this mix. :)
I've always shied away from mixing prints because to be honest I wasn't really sure how I felt about it. I admired the risk taking though so after avoiding it for so long, I finally took the plunge. I love how this outfit came together because it was completely unplanned. Aren't those the best ones? I picked out this polka dot top and decided that I wanted to bring out the olive color in the print. Once I paired it together with these shorts and bag I needed to figure out which shoes to go with. These green snakeskin pumps seemed like the perfect option. Once I had all of the pieces on this quickly became one of my favorite looks. When it comes to print mixing for beginners, I remembered the tip about sticking with the same colors. This is a great way to ease into it. I think that the bag really helped to balance everything out as well. I never really thought to pair polka dots with snakeskin. Now I need to think of other combinations. :)
